Technical Analysis · Phillip Marlowe
TECHNICAL
REVIEW
Most players have never seen their own swing from outside. This service looks at your mechanics, your movement, your timing, and the technical habits that are limiting your game.
You can't fix what you can't see.
What's Different
WHAT IS A
TECHNICAL REVIEW?
The Performance Review looks at your match as a whole, inlcuding tactics, decision-making, movement patterns across the game. It also covers some technical aspects. The Technical Review goes somewhere different. It focuses entirely on your mechanics: how you swing, how you prepare, how you move to and from the ball.
Using slow motion, pausing and on-screen annotation, I'll break down exactly what's happening in your swing. What's working, what isn't, and what small adjustments could make a meaningful difference to your ball striking.
Because this review is focused on technique rather than match performance, the footage requirements are different. I'll provide a short guide showing you exactly what to record, from which angles, and how to set up your phone or camera to get the most useful footage.
- A private analysis video — only you can see it
- Slow motion breakdown of your swing and movement
- On-screen annotation highlighting key technical points
- Clear explanation of what to change and why
- A written Summary PDF to refer back to
- Specific drills to address the technical issues identified
- The opportunity to ask follow-up questions by email
Small technical changes = Significant results.
Before You Record
WHAT TO
RECORD
Unlike the Performance Review, where a competitive match recording is ideal, the Technical Review requires footage recorded specifically for analysis. The angle, distance, and framing all matter.
Before this service launches, I'll produce a short guide video showing you exactly what to record and how to set your camera up to give the analysis the best possible material to work with.
Register your interest and you'll be notified when the guide and the service are ready.
Technique is the foundation of everything.

Common Questions
FAQ
How is this different from the Performance Review?
The Performance Review analyses a real competitive match, and it covers tactics, decision-making, and movement patterns across the game. The Technical Review focuses purely on mechanics: your swing, your preparation, and your movement to and from the ball. Different footage, different focus, different output.
Do I need to send a match recording?
No. The Technical Review requires footage recorded specifically for analysis — not a match. I'll provide a guide showing you exactly what to record and how before the service launches.
Can I use a mobile phone to record?
Yes — most modern mobile phones can capture footage that's more than adequate for technical analysis, especially in slow motion. The recording guide will explain the best settings and positioning to use.
What if I have a specific shot I want analysed?
That's exactly what this service is for. When you submit your footage, let me know which shot or aspect of your movement you're most concerned about and I'll make sure to focus on it.
Will I receive drills to work on?
Yes. Where relevant, I'll recommend specific drills to address the technical issues identified in your analysis. These will be noted in your video.
What's the difference between the Standard and Premium technical reviews?
The premium contains two reviews; the inital one and a follow up one after you have worked on improving.
English is not my first language. Can I still use the service?
Absolutely. If English isn't your first language, please mention it when you submit your footage and I'll speak more slowly, use clearer language, and avoid idioms.
I am a junior player. Can I use this service?
Yes, but all contact and communication must go through a parent or guardian.
